While at his rally in West Virginia, that feels like a long time ago. Especially after seeing him mock a sexual assault victim at his Mississippi rally. Trump talked about his relationship with the North Korean dictator, Kim Jong Un.
After mentioning his contentious relationship with the Korean dictator, in which he called Kim "Rocket Man" during that period of time:

Trump said, "and then we fell in love. Ok?" After the crowd gave that a good laugh. Trump continued, saying, "No, really. He wrote me beautiful letters. And they're great letters. We fell in love."
Imagine if President Obama had said that about Hassan Rouhani, when the two leaders were trying to negotiate nuclear weapon policies? And rightfully so, because that would be fucking insane.
But with Trump as President, we live in insane-fucking times:
It's great to see that the two assholes have kissed and made up:
The problem with Trump's comments besides saying he's fallen in love with a ruthless dictator, is that it's not clear that the two sides are actually getting along as the President is portraying.
North Korea's top diplomat Ri Yong Ho told world leaders at the U.N. General Assembly that North Korea has yet to see the United States respond to the North's early disarmament news. Citing that the United States has yet to ease sanctions.
Additionally, the Associated Press noted that "denuclearization negotiations have stalled."
That hasn't stopped Trump from being optimistic.
"We're doing great with North Korea," said Trump at his West Virginia rally. "We were going to war with North Korea. Millions of people would have been killed. Now we have this great relationship."
A war that was almost started, because of his insane tweet.
Meanwhile, back in 2017, the International Bar Association wrote a report about the crimes against humanity that the North Korean dictatorship has inflicted upon political prisoners.
Some of the they have gathered from experts and defectors about the treatment of political prisoners:
prisoners tortured and killed on account of their religious affiliation, with officials instructed ‘to wipe out the seed of [Christian] reactionaries’;
a prisoner’s newborn baby, fed to guard dogs and killed;
an abortion induced by three men standing on a wooden plank placed on a pregnant prisoner’s stomach;
a female prisoner losing consciousness after enduring a beating designed to trigger premature labour, with prison officials killing her baby before she could regain consciousness;
a prisoner raped by a security officer, after which the officer pushed a wooden stick inside her vagina and beat her lower body, resulting in her death within a week;
the deliberate starvation, malnutrition, overwork and death of countless prisoners, including between 1,500–2,000 prisoners, mostly children, who are believed to have died each year from malnutrition in one camp alone, with many other prisoners beaten to death for failing to meet production quotas;
a soldier supervising a forced labour site rolling a log down a steep mountainside, killing ten prisoners as they were carrying logs up the mountain;
routine public executions of prisoners, carried out in front of both children and adults, designed to subdue the prison population;
the execution of starving prisoners found digging for edible plants on a mountainside; and
the beating to death of a prisoner for hiding stolen corn in his mouth.
What a guy to fall in love with. Trump would probably be jealous of Kim if he saw that list.
