Rep. Dan Crenshaw is an idiot, and an asshole

Donald Trump's racist tweet about Congresswoman Ilhan Omar got the response most expected, Omar is now receiving death threats, and Trump's tweet came just days after a Trump supporter called Omar's office to tell a staffer that if the founding fathers would have "put a bullet in her head," if they were here today.

The Washington Examiner, of course, is trying to deflect the death threats Rep. Omar is receiving by pointing out that Donald Trump too receives death threats. I have no doubt that Donald Trump is receiving death threats from unhinged people, but there is a considerable difference between the two getting death threats.

Democratic leaders are not inciting violence against Donald Trump, but Rep. Omar is getting death threats from unhinged people because an unhinged President is sending unhinged tweets. No Democratic politician has ever come close to tweeting about anything the way Donald Trump tweeted about Ilhan Omar. It was all but guaranteed that she was going to receive more death threats because of the insane tweet that came from the President.

Fox News is doing its part to act as equally unhinged as Donald Trump:

This all begins with the fact that the Republican Party is Islamaphobic, so it doesn't matter what Rep. Omar said. An opinionated women of color who is Muslim, it was more than inevitable that conservatives would attack for anything she said, so the moment they could take her out of context they were going to attack her.

This specific story began when people were taking comments made by Rep. Omar completely out of context in which people were trying to say that she was down playing 9/11, when in fact, her comments were about the treatment of innocent Muslims after 9/11, when thousands of Muslims saw their civil liberties abused by the government.

One of the first people to criticize Ilhan Omar was freshman Congressman Dan Crenshaw. My first blog about Rep. Crenshaw was about the fact the Congressman not only didn't know how marginal taxes worked, but was also completely ignorant of how American professional sports work.

That blog was about Crenshaw being a jackass. This blog is about him being an asshole.

Rob Serra, a wheelchair-bound retired firefighter of the FDNY, and a survivor of 9/11, tried to introduce himself to Crenshaw in attempt to lobby politicians to renew the 9/11 Victim Compensation Fund (VCF). With recent events it would make sense that Serra would try to talk to Crenshaw, considering Crenshaw's outrage at comments he thinks Rep. Omar made.

According to Serra, Crenshaw told Serra that he was "too busy," but that his office would get back to him in the coming days.

Two weeks had passed, and yet, no word from Crenshaw or his office. Crenshaw finally responded, but only after Serra had told the New York Daily News about Crenshaw blowing him off.

Instead of checking himself, and considering his hypocrisy, Crenshaw took an interesting position, especially in the context of him getting so indignant about Omar's comments, and before I go further, I want to point out that Serra is a constituent of Congressman Max Rose, for in an interview with the New York Daily News, Crenshaw showed us just how big of an asshole he is.

"He's conspiring with Max Rose," Crenshaw told the New York Daily News. "There's a more malicious underlying motive her I think." I had no idea Crenshaw does think, so far there is no evidence that would support his claim that he does. "This accusation is a nefarious attempt to undermine me because I spoke out against Omar. It's highly dishonest," he added.

What is nefarious here is that Crenshaw thinks that a 9/11 survivor is only going after him because of his comments about Omar, when in fact this 9/11 survivor desperately needs the healthcare coverage he needs in order to stay alive, and Crenshaw seems to be reluctant to get the healthcare these first responders need for their heroic sacrifices on 9/11.

"Generally speaking, I support the 9/11 Victim Compensation Fund, but the reality is that it's not out of committee yet," Crenshaw told the New York Daily News. "I certainly support the fund, but we need to see what the final bill is like. I hope they don't put poison pills in it so that we are forced to vote against it."

Posion pills? Good excuse.

Regarding both his comments regarding Serra and the bill to provide help to 9/11 first responders, you clearly see a man who thinks like a conspiracy theorist. Serra is conspiring against him, and the next VCF is going to conspire against first responders. First responders may argue that not voting for it would be a form of a poison pill, but that's besides the point.

More importantly, it shows how bad of a guy Crenshaw is, and how completely worthless and empty his criticism of Omar was.

How dare a first responder of 9/11, who is now wheelchair-bound because of that day, be upset that I completely blew him off when all he was asking for was support for a bill that would get him healthcare he has more than earned, and what Americans owe him. This first responder isn't upset with me because I blew him off, he's just an agent for the Democrats.

I don't care for identity politics, but this is an egregious example of what if? What if President Obama had sent a tweet about a Republican like the one Trump did about Omar? What if Ilhan Omar had responded to a first responder of 9/11 the way Dan Crenshaw did?

Crenshaw is truly one dumb asshole...
