Mississippi Senate Candidate Chris McDaniel is racist.
As The Root points out, he has spoken at neo-confederate events, and he loves himself some Robert E. Lee.
- McDaniel has spoken at the Sons of Confederate Veterans Conference.
- He posted a tweet that loved himself some Robert E. Lee.

Historically literate people know that Robert E. Lee statues were put up during the Jim Crow Era, to "remind" African Americans that they are inferior to the white man, but Chris Daniel is a racist.
He then posted a tweet about Robert E. Lee that did not come back in the racist way he was hoping for:

If McDaniel is lucky, 8% of those Twitter voters are from Mississippi.
McDaniel appeared on MSNBC's Morning Joe with Eddie Glaude Jr., who chairs Princeton's Center for African American Studies, and is a Mississippi Native.
Eddie Glaude Jr. asked McDaniel about his racist history, noted by The Root:
- McDaniel tried to hide his love for the confederate flag behind Mississippi voters wanting to keep it.
- Claimed "hip-hop" caused violence, even though the study said those who listen to hip-hop tend to drink and have a little higher rate of violence, but that hip-hop is not the reason for the crime.
Gloude then asked McDaniel, "How do you convince black folks in this state that you're not a danger to them?.. How do you speak to those 38 percent?"
“I’m going to ask them, ‘After 100 years of relying on big government to save you, where are you today?’” Answered McDaniel. “‘After 100 years of begging for federal government scraps, where are you today?”
"The crowd started booing immediately and the white people on the panel looked so uncomfortable that host Scarborough jumped to another topic as if someone had brought up slavery at the Kardashian-West Thanksgiving dinner," writes The Root.
Here was the McDaniel-Claude interaction on Morning Joe:
What a racist-fuck?
